These are not instructions, but rather just a description of what these arbors are. Many people ask about them, and, in most cases, just seeing what they look like is sufficient explanation for their use. They consist of a body and a cap and are made to grip the round, toothed cutters used for milling. The arbors have a #1 Morse taper on the body and are held in the mill headstock spindle with a drawbolt. The drawbolt is not provided with the arbor because almost everyone with a Sherline mill already has one on hand from a drill chuck or some other accessory. If you do not have one, you will need to order P/N 3088. It is a 1/4-20 x 5-1/8" bolt with a special washer that registers in the spindle end. The cap is held to the arbor body with a 10-32 socket head screw. The cutter is gripped between the body and the cap.

The arbors are made to hold cutters with either a 7/8" or 1" inside diameter hole. They are also available in two lengths: 7/8" long and 1-3/4" long. Part numbers for each arbor are as follows:
P/N 3230-7/8" dia. x 7/8" long
P/N 3231-7/8" dia. x 1-3/4" long
P/N 3235-1" dia. x 7/8" long
P/N 3236-1" dia. x 1-3/4" long
