The rear side, multi-tool holder, was designed to complement our four-position, gang-tooling tool posts. It can be used in conjunction with the gang-tooling tool post or on its own for our customers who want to convert their Sherline lathe into a “Chucker Lathe” or gang-tooling lathe.
The rear-mount tool holder is slightly taller than its front-side counterpart, P/N 5932, allowing the tool to be mounted upside down and used on the backside of the crosslide. The round holes are for holding boring tools on center (tool not included) like Sherline’s own right- and left-hand 55° inserted tip tool holders.
Our rear side, multi-tool holder, offers a convenient and accurate way to hold up to two round boring tools with a known center-line-to-center-line distance of 1.500″ and a slot to hold 3/8″ square carbide tool holders on the “back” side of the part for turning, grooving, or threading tools.
We also offer a rear-side, multi-tool holder for customers who want to use ER16 collet holders with a 5/8″ shank.
